ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to explore deeper cooperation in trade, energy, and infrastructure, as Turkmenistan extended an invitation to Pakistan to participate in its upcoming Investment Forum (TIF) in Ashgabat next month.

The development came during a meeting between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Turkmen Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov on Monday, where both sides discussed ways to expand bilateral trade, commerce, and investment.

Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Turkmenistan, noting that the past year had seen multiple high-level ministerial exchanges between the two countries. Ambassador Movlamov described Pakistan as an “important trading and investment partner” and a vital transit hub for regional trade.

Talks also focused on potential joint ventures and partnerships in the energy, transportation, and construction sectors. On behalf of Turkmenistan’s Minister of Finance and Economy Mammetguly Astanagulov, Movlamov formally invited Aurangzeb to attend the TIF, scheduled for mid-September in Ashgabat.
